Indications

Acetaminophen is an analgesic and antipyretic drug that is used to relieve various mild to moderate pains such as headache, back pain, toothache, menstrual pain, and muscle and skeletal pain.

UseDuringPregnancy

Acetaminophen is in group B during pregnancy. This drug is the drug of choice for the treatment of mild pain and fever during pregnancy and lactation, and so far no problems have been reported from its use in pregnancy.

Precautions

If acetaminophen is taken at a dose of 10 grams or more, it causes severe hepatotoxicity.
If acetaminophen is used for several weeks with a dose of 5-8 grams or for a year with a dose of 3-4 grams per day, it can cause liver damage, but long-term use with a dose of less than 2 grams per day It does not lead to liver damage.
Simultaneous use of acetaminophen and alcohol increases the risk of liver damage.
Simultaneous use of some drugs such as carbamazepine, phenytoin and rifampin may increase the toxic effect of acetaminophen on the liver.

Adults and children over 12 years old: 1 to 2 capsules every 6 to 8 hours, if needed, do not take more than 8 capsules a day.

This medicine is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
